Deutsch fabricates every single component in every hermetic connector we make--we even designed and build many of the machines we use to produce our connectors. 

Deutsch extended contact terminations are the most cost effective method of applying PC boards and flex circuits to pin interface connectors.  The Deutsch hermetic manufacturing process allows considerable design flexibility, such as contact extension length and diameter, gold or presolder finish.

All components are manufactured directly by Deutsch EIS--the shell, the insert, and the contact.

To produce the glass inserts, Deutsch compounds high-grade silica and binders.  When fused with the contacts and the shell, the inserts produce a true hermetic seal.

On of the greatest features about hermetic connectors is the variety of shell styles available. Deutsch offers several layouts in a standard rectangular “D” subminiature hermetic, with the largest size accommodating up to 78 contacts.

Just as important as the shell and the insert are the contacts.  Deutsch uses a special steel alloy that not only withstands the intense heat of the sealing process, but also provides good conductivity.  Deutsch offers a variety of contact types in sizes 22, 20, 16, and 12.
